Knee replacement surgery is performed for arthritic knees
that are painful and dysfunction and that are too worn for
joint preserving surgery to be a consideration. If only one
area of the knee is worn, "partial" or unicompartmental
knee replacement may be the treatment of choice. In most cases,
total knee replacement is the appropriate treatment. For more
information, please click on "minimally invasive knee
surgery" or the knee section of surgical navigation part
of this website.
