Knee Replacement Surgery

Knee replacement surgery is performed for arthritic knees that are painful and dysfunction and that are too worn for joint preserving surgery to be a consideration. If only one area of the knee is worn, "partial" or unicompartmental knee replacement may be the treatment of choice. In most cases, total knee replacement is the appropriate treatment.
